The wolf has been here longer than we have.
'Ushaw' from the Old Norse, means 'wolves wood'. Over a 1000 years before we arrived, this place already carried the name. The woods that surround this building, the stone walls, the silence between the trees, all of it was already named for something wild, solitary, and free.
"We didn't know that when we moved here"
Some things find you I suppose...

If you are looking for a quick fix, this probably is not it. If you want something that actually impacts your life and creates positive change, you are in the right place.

We're not like other studios. Every class is built around a clear purpose, blending strength, flexibility, and body awareness so you always know where you're headed. Nothing here is random, each session is a deliberate step on a specific journey toward real, lasting change.

Chances are, you've been living with pain for a while now, managing it instead of actually fixing it. What if someone finally took the time to dig deeper and uncover the real imbalances your body has been compensating for all along?

Not a fan of crowded gyms? The Lone Wolf Private Gym gives you the space to just show up and work — no waiting for equipment, no one watching. Book your slot, put in the work, and walk away having made real progress, every single time.

Some tension lives too deep for stretching to reach. Laura, one of the North East's most respected massage therapists, gets to the root of it. Whether you need focus on a specific problem or a monthly reset, this isn't a treat. It's maintenance for the life you want to keep living.

Meditation is so much more than sitting quietly with your eyes closed. Done right, it recalibrates your physiology, reshapes how you see the world, and builds new thought patterns that stick, all in service of a clearer vision for your future. It's a complete approach, and it works.

What would it feel like to truly step away, even for half a day at the Lone Wolf Yoga Studio, or fully, for seven transformative days in the Spanish Pyrenees? Sometimes changing your environment is the only way to expand your world. This is that chance.
I don't know where I fit. Well that is exactly what the assessment is for or contact us and we will guide you.

A structured meditation course that builds your practice from the ground up. You'll move through four layered stages, from finding physiological equilibrium and sharpening your focus, through reshaping how you think, to clarifying your vision for the future. Each step embeds into daily life before you progress to the next. The result is a personalised meditation practice that actually sticks, and a clearer sense of purpose in how you live your life.

This is the most important step, everything builds on top of it. Most people arrive in a chronic, low-level state of fight or flight: tension stored in the body, a mind that won't stop overthinking, and a nervous system that hasn't found the off switch in years, maybe even decades. This step restores your physiological equilibrium. You'll identify the poor breathing patterns keeping you stuck in that state, and re-learn how to breathe properly to activate the other side of the coin, the parasympathetic "rest and digest" system. It's here we also learn to observe thoughts without attaching to them, creating the space to become the observer, rather than believing every thought that passes through your mind. And it's where focus and attention training begins: you notice just how busy the mind really is, gently keep bringing it back, and over time your attention starts to collect. This step is the anchor you'll return to for the rest of your life.
This step is about how you interpret reality. Two people can live very similar lives and experience them in completely different ways, shaped by their filters, their past, and where they place their attention. You begin to understand that around 95% of our thoughts and behaviours run on autopilot, as unconscious patterns. The work here is to use conscious awareness to start reshaping them. You'll meet the Reticular Activating System, the brain's filter that notices whatever you train it to look for, and learn to point it on purpose, shifting from noticing problems to noticing possibilities. And if you already have a gratitude practice, this is where we supercharge it: a process that moves from thought, to emotion, to physical feeling, rewiring perception at the root.
Here we start to move deeper, into your internal narrative and belief systems. All behaviour stems from thought patterns, some thoughts drive positive action, while others are limiting and lead to avoidance or self-sabotage. You'll identify where your thinking has been shaped by outside forces, the media, the conversations you have, the environments you spend most time in, and begin to reshape it on purpose. Then we get to the core of who you are: identifying the values you most want to live by, exploring why they matter to you, and building personalised daily affirmations that genuinely align with your true identity. We bring in journalling prompts and weave them into your daily meditation. These are the tools that let you reframe situations, understand your own reactions, and choose a different response.
This is the exciting part as we turn towards the future and start to bring it to life. You move into clarity on what you actually want, and use visualisation as a practical tool to get there. The brain doesn't fully distinguish between a real experience and a vividly imagined one, which means you can condition emotional states, build confidence, and prime your behaviour before the moment ever arrives. The Wheel of Life exercise maps where your energy sits across the most important areas of your life, so you can see what's thriving and what needs attention. From there, we create a clear vision for the future, one that makes you want to jump out of bed and step into it. By the end of the course, your final meditation pulls all four steps into one: breath, awareness, perception, thoughts, and visions - a complete practice that's entirely your own.
We give you the tools. You create the change.
