Perched dramatically atop a rocky cliff over 1,000 m high, Fox House (known locally as Casa Guilla) is a historic 1,200‑year‑old medieval refuge set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Pyrenees and Montsec ridge. Nestled within a UNESCO geopark and certified Starlight Reserve, this enchanting stone sanctuary offers panoramic views of valleys, vineyards, lakes, and forests—an immersive escape for the senses. Once a garrison and farmhouse, today Fox House is a soulful rural guesthouse featuring nine individually designed suites—all with en‑suite facilities—and generous communal spaces. Guests delight in the soaring open-plan living area, art-filled interiors, terraces, and a crystalline infinity pool that floats on the edge of the world.
“The 5 Elements Retreat was a totally immersive experience. Challenging physically and mentally, raising awareness of the basic elements; fire, water, earth, air and space and the part they play in forming what we are and what we wish to become.”
“What can I say about the Fox House, Lone Wolf Vision Inner Fire Yoga Retreat. Words will never be enough. We have returned for the third time and had an absolutely incredible week.”
“I had the opportunity to meet wonderful people. If I could describve this retreat in two words it would be tranquility & joy.”
“As a yoga newbie I really enjoyed the sessions led by Stephen on the retreat in Spain. Clear instructions and made me feel safe. From start to finish you are cared for and guided.”
“If you are thinking about coming on this retreat, don't hesitate! I overcame fears, the hosts are amazing, food stunning and it has changed my life”
Set in the wild beauty of the Spanish Pyrenees, our unique yoga and meditation retreats guide you through the five elemental forces of nature. Earth, Water, Air, Fire, and Space, to help you reconnect with your body, breath, and deeper sense of knowing ones self.
Each day of the retreat is dedicated to one of the Lone Wolf Elements, combining daily yoga, guided meditation, reflective journaling, and nature-based experiences to support a deep inner unfolding. The programme is designed to gently release the patterns and pace of modern life, allowing you to return home grounded, spacious, and free.
At the heart of our mountain yoga retreats in the Spanish Pyrenees is a powerful collaboration between Stephen Jack, transformational yoga and meditation teacher, and Laura Morris, the creative force behind Fox House, Casa Guilla.
Laura is the soul of the house, a gifted chef, designer, and host whose warmth fills every corner of this historic stone sanctuary. From her handcrafted interiors to nourishing, home-cooked meals served beneath mountain skies, her presence brings life and depth to your stay. By her side is Karl, her husband and the quiet engine that keeps everything running smoothly. Karl ensures the house remains a seamless haven, handling logistics, maintenance, and the behind-the-scenes flow that allows everything else to shine.
Unforgettable days that take you deeper into the land, the stars, and yourself
Each Lone Wolf Vision retreat in the Spanish Pyrenees is unique not just in its teachings, but in the carefully curated experiences that immerse you in the wild beauty and cultural richness of the region. These are not ordinary excursions. They are soul-stirring, sense-awakening adventures that expand what it means to “retreat.” Some days might take you upward — deep into protected mountain regions like Aigüestortes, where ancient paths lead to pristine alpine lakes and untouched landscapes. The stillness here is alive, and just walking in these high places becomes a kind of meditation in motion.
Other days look to the stars. A local astronomy expert may join us one evening with his professional-grade telescope, offering a guided stargazing experience beneath some of the clearest skies in Europe. Expect myths, science, wonder — and a humbling sense of how small and beautiful we are. Then there are days by water, like paddleboarding across the turquoise expanse of Pantà de Sant Antoni, Catalonia’s largest freshwater reservoir. Cool, expansive, and utterly freeing, it’s a chance to move, laugh, and feel the sun on your skin as the mountains reflect back around you. Or perhaps we’ll travel through time, walking among real dinosaur footprints and ancient fossils in the hillside city of Orcau. This unique visit is often paired with a wine tasting at a local vineyard, where the geological stories of the land meet the depth and richness of its harvest. It’s earthy, raw, and unforgettable.
These experience days are woven with intention — not just for fun, but to support the deeper rhythm of your retreat journey. They offer a chance to connect, reflect, and awaken something elemental within you — all while discovering the hidden treasures of the Pyrenees.
Just beyond the ridgelines behind Fox House, the myth of the lone wolf has stirred for generations, a silent shadow moving through pine and stone, glimpsed only in passing. But in early 2024, that myth stepped into reality. Less than ten miles from Fox House, a trail camera captured this real image, a European wolf, wild and alone, roaming the hills. That the wild is not gone, only waiting. These animals embody the spirit of solitary wanderers, forging paths across human-dominated landscapes. They appear, leave a trace—a paw print, some fur, a camera image—then vanish, yet they remain deeply symbolic: guardians of connection to wild nature.
After being declared extinct in Catalonia in 1929, wolf sightings began again from the early 2000s onward, thanks to dispersing Italian and Central European wolves entering from France. A particularly remarkable case involves an Italian wolf and one born in Germany traveling into Catalonia. For instance, a wolf born near Nordhorn, Germany, trekked some 1,240 km across Europe and was confirmed via genetic analysis in the Al t a Ribagorça region in early 2023, making it one of the longest recorded wolf migrations ever!
